129,000 sf. new school accommodates pre-kindergarten through seventh grade on a three-acre site in a mixed-use neighborhood. A “house concept” plan was developed, with the student body divided into three houses - each with 300 students. The three houses are located in distinct pods organized around a central common area, which encompasses a “piazza” atrium area, cafeteria, gymnasium, administration and other central services. Three lunch rooms, all served by one kitchen, reinforces the house identity. The pre-kindergarten and kindergarten rooms are all located on the first floor to minimize circulation for young children.
